Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) regulates Britain's gas and electricity industries and has a number of statutory duties including the protection of consumers.

Ofgem's role is to protect and advance the interests of consumers by promoting competition where possible and through regulation only where necessary. They have made a number of regulations relating to the service we provide to our customers and if we fail to meet any of these Guaranteed Standards, we must pay compensation to those customers affected. These standards are reported to Ofgem on an annual basis.

Charging Information

2010 – 2011 Final Charges

The attachments below constitute the final charges that will be used by Electricity North West for the year commencing 1st April 2010.

The attachments below constitute the indicative charges as published in December 2009. They have now been replaced by the Final Charges (above).

Charging Methodology for 2010-2011

On 25 August 2009, the fourteen distribution licensees as Distribution Service Providers collectively submitted to Ofgem the documents attached below which make up the Common Distribution Charging Methodology (CDCM) package. This in accordance with Licence Condition 50 of the Standard Licence Condition under which licensees are obliged to submit a CDCM by 1 September 2009.

ENW submitted the modification proposal to Ofgem which was non-vetoed on 22 January 2010 which seeks to introduce interim EHV Charging Methodologies for demand and distribution generation for April 2010.

ENW is proposing to roll forward the existing methodologies for a single year only and these methodologies will be applied until the introduction of the EHV Common Distribution Methodology in April 2011.
